Was raised by his great Aunt Lynn from Yonkers NY. She had a husband and daughter who both died. Shortly after his birth his mother got very ill (possibly Scarlett Fever) and Aunt Lynn came to help. By the time she was well, she was pregnant with Lois and Ray stayed with his Aunt Lynn.
Marie Reid once asked her how she could give her son away and her answer wasa, Well Lynn wanted him. His daughter Linda was named after her. Mary Smith knew Aunt lynn and said she was a wonderful woman.
Raymond married Marie Jeanette Smith, daughter of Frederick Louis Smith and Elberta Marie Brown, on 9 Aug 1941 in Baltimore, , Maryland.
